Not really all about Anne–this would have to be a much longer post.
If I were on a marketing/communications baseball team, I’d be a utility player. Because I’ve worked mostly in smaller places, I wear many hats. Writing, editing, website design, content creation, email campaigns, and social media are just some of the skills in my metaphorical duffle bag, along with a keen understanding of all the factors that go into running a successful organization: leadership, management, human resources, development, and finance (I’m a creator who loves Excel).
I work by looking at the big picture—who we are and what we want to accomplish—and developing the detailed plans and budgets for making that happen. Nothing’s more fun than figuring out an overall strategy and then eventually drilling down on details like whether to use the Oxford comma in our style manual, a pull quote for our next social media post, or the thousands separator in our upcoming financial report.
For play, I love to read. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a librarian, because I thought they got to sit around and read all day. The greatest thing about the smartphone is being able to carry my Kindle in my pocket. So long as I have a book, I’m never bored. Aside from that, I devour podcasts on habits, money, the Royal Family, happiness, and music while walking my rescue dog Furby, a long-haired Chihuahua with the snout (or rather lack thereof) of a Pekingese.
